Hello ! My name is Nasca and I'm in my mid 30's.

Ever since I was a child I've had a deep love for fantasy settings, immersing myself in the stories of many books, RPG's from just about every game system from the last 30 years and a few fan fictions I wrote back in my college days. However, I'll always remember paging through one of my brother's D&D books and just being in awe of all the information within. Regretfully, I was deemed too young to play alongside my brother and all I could was listen to the stories being told. I never was able to find anyone that had an interest for it and once I set upon my career my time was consumed by responsibilities.

Flash forward to today and here I am ! Many of my friends on Discord have mentioned they play D&D and suggested I should give Roll20 a shot. So I hope you might consider me for your group. I've done my best to read the D&D 5th edition Player's Handbook and I've come up with a bit of a Non-traditional, yet functional character.

Your name: Nasca
New player or experienced: New
Character name: Cycerath of the Rius
Character race: Human
Character class: Ranger
Character background: Noble Fisherman
Character backstory: From the Island of Rius very little is known, most think of them as just a sailor's tale deep in their cups, that they live on an island that moves with the flow of the currents or that it is the place that Mermaids hide their lovers, stolen in the night so that they can't escape. What it is documented by the scholars of olden times is that the people of Rius have a deep connection with the Ocean, the Sea is their mother, the Sea is their life, they're not Sailors, they are Fishermen. Having a strong work ethic and taught as children that hard work does not guarantee success, as the Sea can be a fickle thing. As the son of the leader of Rius, Cycerath grew up well liked by his people, despite his noble birth, he would always help along with the other boys to gather bait for the elders, mend ropes and repair and maintain the boats, fervently keep to the traditions and faith of his people and offer the largest fish of his catch to Pimoe, God of Fishes and Rius. As a reward Pimoe blessed Cycerath on his 18th nameday with a King Fisher, a small bird that would always indicate where small fish are schooling, so precious was this bird to Cycerath, he named it La'tea. By age 25 Cycerath has learned well the craft from his father, and his father before him and now he must undertake the rite of passage to earn his place as the leader of his people. It took his father the better of 19 years to complete this task and earn the admiration of his people, it is Cycerath ambition to be able to do so in 10 years. Leaving Rius to undertake this quest with nothing but the clothes customary for his people, a spear, fishing tackle, a pouch full of sandstones, water skins, dried fish rations and a pouch of gold pieces, Cycerath leaves his home in the Sea on the back of a giant Orca towards the continent. His only reminder and companion of Rius, La'tea on his shoulder.
