Bio

I'm a mature, older player, 59 years old. My experience that I list below doesn't make me any sort of "expert" on anything, its just a description of my roleplaying journey.

I've been roleplaying since the first release of the old white box Basic D&D set in April of 1974, and have played a huge multitude of games over the years, both running them and as a player. I enjoy anything that's fun, there's few roleplaying games I don't like. In addition to what's listed in the "Enjoys Playing" section, I also enjoy

  • DC Adventures (uses the Mutants and Masterminds 3e system)
  • DC Heroes (Mayfair)
  • Marvel Superheroes (TSR)
  • Star Trek (FASA, Decipher CODA, and Modiphius)

And many others. If there's a game you'd like me to try or play, and I haven't mentioned it, just ask me if you're not sure! If its worth playing, I've most likely at least tried it. If not, I'm definitely willing to give it a shot. So I'm looking for groups wanting to play or playing any of those listed and I'm game for most other games.

My actual timezone is Eastern Standard (East Coast United States), but my ability to play other timezones is flexible

I moved a few years ago, and as a result, I haven’t been around my normal roleplaying group from back home, so instead playing at least once a week as I’ve been used to for decades, I’ve hardly played at all, except for the few games I’ve managed to get involved with here on Roll20. As a result, I may have to refresh myself with some systems and games, but like riding a bike, you never lose it, you just get rusty.

I’m open to playing almost anything that I can get my hands on materials for, so if I’m considered as a player for a game, I’m more than willing to give an unfamiliar system a shot, or dust off an old favorite. I’ve played more systems than I can count so most likely, it’ll be dusting off an old favorite or at least familiar one.

I’ve been running games as long as I’ve been playing them, and can run pretty much any game I’m familiar with, but there are a limited number of games I currently have materials handy for, and that are reasonably easy for me to come up with a game premise for.

The games I’m willing (and have books and materials for) running are (this also includes playing though I’m open to pretty much anything in regards to being a player):

  • Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 (I’ve played the Original and Basic D&D, and AD&D 1st and 2nd edition extensively as well, but prefer 3.5 or 5e. I’m by no means a fan of 4e)

  • Dungeons & Dragons 5e/Next (Still learning this system; currently running a small game for some friends)

  • DC Adventures (DC Comics system by Green Ronin)/Mutants and Masterminds 3e (I’m still learning this one but as a d20 variant, its not much different than things I’m used to. I was running a game for this that ended a while back)

  • DC Heroes (DC Comics system by Mayfair Games)

  • Marvel Super Heroes Advanced (Published by TSR)

  • Shadowrun any edition, but mostly 4th and 5th editions (Formerly by FASA, currently Catalyst Game Labs). I'm currently looking into Shadowrun 6th edition

  • Star Trek Adventures (by Modiphius) I’m still getting familiar with this one, but its simple enough. I have a game running with this system currently

  • Star Trek RPG (Decipher Games’ version using the CODA system)

  • Star Trek RPG (Old FASA system, limited materials for it)

  • Star Wars 3.5 (the d20 version published by Wizards of the Coast, also often referred to as Star Wars d20 and d20 Revised)

  • Star Wars SAGA edition (limited materials)

  • World of Darkness Old/Classic Revised [3rd] edition with as many 20th Anniversary updates for each game line as I could find, always looking for more (includes Vampire the Masquerade, Kindred of the East, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Wraith the Oblivion, Changeling the Dreaming, Hunter the Reckoning, Mummy the Resurrection, Demon the Fallen, and the catchall for mostly humans World of Darkness). I’ve played all of these since their first incarnations, yet the most recent versions are the ones I prefer. I’m good with either playing individual games in this game line, or combining them all into one game, so whichever preference is most prevalent works for me. I’ve played all these games extensively, except for the 20th Anniversary editions, which I’m learning the differences now, and had a W20 game in progress that ended a while back.

  • The new Vampire the Masquerade V5 system, and offer this as a game I run. The system is similar enough to the older ones, but with a few added features that streamline the experience, so learning it isn’t too great of a challenge. As an update, I had a game running V5 but it ended several months ago.

  • Hunter the Reckoning 5th Edition (H5)

  • Werewolf the Apocalypse 5th Edition (W5)

If you want or need a player for any of these, or would like to play with a game master you haven’t played with before, and would be interested in playing any of these, please drop me a PM here on Roll20, or I can give you my Discord if you PM me.
