Hello fellow gamers.
I'm Hal. I've been playing D&D on and off since original basic way back in the early 80's. I've played every edition, to some degree or another, currently playing 5th and have been since it came out.
I enjoy campaigns that primarily focus on story with personal side story-lines built in. I also enjoy some decent role-play and, of course, enough hack and slash to satisfy the inner animal. I tend to play rogues, rangers and the occasional (non-tank) fighter, typically as an elf or human.
Over the years I've also enjoyed playing other RPGs such as Deadlands, A Song of Ice and Fire, Star Wars, and Serenity. In the end, as much as I enjoyed the other games, I always crave to return to D&D.
I've spent time in MMOs as well. No, not WoW. I started with EQ2, then EVE and lastly Rift. I got heavily involved, I raided, I had a great time. That said, my days in MMOs are long gone. I've lost the taste for them.
I moved out of state, and therefore away from my gaming group, which led me to Roll20. I spent a couple months learning the ropes as I ran a solo campaign for my girlfriend. Currently the D&D bug is biting hard and I ache to get back into the action.
Personally, I'm a professional dog trainer. I played ice hockey for most of my life. I used to work at Medieval Times. Yes, I was a knight ... and yes we played D&D. I enjoy movies of all genres, reading, writing, theater, the outdoors and sports of all sorts. I'm currently in Michigan though I'm originally from Chicago so I'm very much a Blackhawks/Bears/Cubs fan.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. I hope to see you out there.
Happy gaming!
Hal
