I've been playing D&D since grade school. That was back in the 1st edition days. Played a bunch of other RPGs in that time too. I'm pretty okay at this, I guess. Might be a little rusty. I like to work with my players to create a story and a good time, not against them.
I've played: D&D (Basic red box, AD&D, 2nd edition, 3rd edition, 5th edition), Top Secret, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, GURPS, Star Frontiers, Warhammer 40k (wargame, not rpg), Battlesystem, and probably a few others I'm not remembering.
I like story, roleplay, and tactical battles. I am a developer at heart, and my campaigns tend to have mini-games to accomplish some things. Not afraid to make up rules for things, codify them, then change those rules based on how it feels to us at the table. Monsters use the whole dungeon and try to outflank the intruding PCs. They can be bargained with too.
I like intrigues and hard decisions. My villains range from comic book villains to beings who think they're the good guys, to making the PCs feel like maybe they're actually the baddies. But it's not all about the self-doubt: There's a lot of black and white choices too, so that the players can feel like the heroes. Most of the time.
