I've enjoyed Pen and paper and the occasional forum game for over 16 years at this point which will be coming up on half my life here in November.

I prefer fantasy settings and sci fi so long as it's not too similar to a 'modern' setting. Granted I don’t mind modern if it's got something interesting going for it that makes it feel different enough (ex: Mutants and masterminds / Spycraft / post fall of civilization/zombie apocalypse etc).

Some of my favorite games have just been simple BS session D4/6 systems me and my friends have made from scratch. Don’t get me wrong I like the structure some systems give and allow you to build something neat and orderly ; but sometimes you just want to be a Half life Warboy wearing a full denim outfit with leather armor overlay and a construction helmet with a vault boy bobblehead glued to it like a unicorn horn. Saying stuff like 'You ready friend?' and then shaking your head slightly so you can make fun of the rapid nodding bobblehead motions as you say 'yeayeayeayeayea!' while running up a vehicle and jumping off the hood as your parties raid vehicle rams into the back of your target and go flying through the air. Only saving yourself because you lash out with your spike strip barbed chain which snags a guy by the neck as his back is pulled into the cabs rear view and he holds on for dear life like a dying anchor. His bleeding out being the only thing keeping you from landing in front of the moving vehicle and getting run over. All the while you hang off the hood and attempt to finish the boarding mission cause damnit, 'its a living'.

I'll admit I do enjoy shenanigans sometimes, like if the party is going over a situation where we are trying to rile up a crowd against something and over the course of three checks the crowd gets nat 1's on their sense motives I might crack a pun by starting up a chant of "Easily manipulated! Easily manipulated!" while pumping my arms etc .

Enjoys Playing
Board Games ( Settlers of Catan, Chess... ), D&D 3.5, Fallout, Mutants and Masterminds, Pathfinder, Star Wars ( Edge of the Empire, SAGA... ), Warhammer ( Fantasy, 40k, Wrath & Glory...)
