Hi all,

I'm Longspeak Teller. I've been gaming since the old Blue Box D&D was new. I've tried a lot of hobbies over the years, but nothing does it for me as much as good RP. I've played and GMed (mainly GMed) online for the past 20 years, since the good old WebRPG Online days. It began as a way to game when my wife and I worked opposite schedules and I was home at night with the kids. But I enjoyed it a lot and have stuck with it.

All of my ongoing games are text-based. I'm more comfortable, and the logs are a useful aid to memory. I have and will run one-shots using voice, and I participate as a player over voice. But any ongoing game I run will be text-based.

My games also skew to the narrative side of things. I want to help players tell cool stories, and I want them to challenge me, to use their agency to take my outlines in new and interesting directions. I use the grid for larger fights in my D&D games, but often I prefer a more narrative approach. Give me a vivid description of a fight any day.

My favorite games are:
Everway, a fantasy game with a much more mythic tone. If you've never heard of it, don't worry. It's pretty old and only recently getting a reprint. But many of the ways I think about gaming today I learned from Everway.
Blue Rose - This game has my all time favorite setting. I don't love the AGE system, but the setting is one that's grabbed my attention ever since its first edition days.

But... no-one wants to play those so I'm running D&D 5th Edition. :)

I am currently running: (all times Pacific):

The Brass Dragon Circus & Traveling Sideshow (D&D 5th Ed)
Friday, 6:30 PM; Alternate Saturday, 11:00 AM; & Alternate Sunday, 10:00 AM

There is more to this traveling circus than meets the eye. PCs work for the circus, but their real jobs are as mercenaries and occasional thieves for hire. I run three sessions of this per week, but all are set within the same setting. What happens in one session can (and has) affect the world for everyone.

The Garbage Mummies
Alternate Saturday, 5:00 PM

Dusty and Tony were everyday guys, garbage men working the same route. But something was missing. Neither man felt complete. Each was a shadow of the person they wished they could be. And then they died.

And then they were reborn.

The Garbage Mummies is the tale of two friends, reborn into a world far stranger than they ever suspected, working to find their place, and to realize their new potential as Amenti, returned to life by ancient magic and fragments of ancient, powerful spirits.

Legacy of the Obsidian Dream
Alternate Sunday, 2:30 PM

Gift was isolated from the world for five hundred years. Twenty-Five years ago, the borders re-opened, and newly crowned queen She Who Dreams invited diplomatic trading ties, and tried to help her people rejoin the world community. Due to Gift's troubled past, this met with varying levels of success and suspicion.

Last month, She Who Dreams died. PCs have come from around the world - as have many others - to witness the coronation of a new queen, only to discover a realm still trying to overcome the burden of their dark past... and something more...

Legacy of the Obsidian Dream is a 5e tale of redemption and loyalty, more RP than dice, but still with dice and maps at the right moments. Only recently begun, there's still time to add one more player.

I am Pacific Time, and my day job means I'm not home until 6:30 most weeknights.

I also enjoy playing these games which Roll20 won't let me list:
Star Wars d6 (Classic 1st ed, or REUP), Everway, Blue Rose, AMP, Over the Edge, Some but not all oWOD (Mage, Mummy, or sometimes a mishmash).

Enjoys Playing
Apocalypse World System ( The Sprawl, Monster Hearts... ), Cypher System Games ( Numenera, The Strange... ), D&D 5E, Dogs in the Vineyard, Dungeon World, Other Games
