Hello I'm Doodle! I am a non-binary little goblin doing non-binary little goblin things!
I have ran games for different TTRPGS since 2015 when I was in highschool. I am a DM that prefers fun and story over rules but rules are still in place to keep it fair among the players. I like to create homebrew worlds that are fun to explore and experience.
I like to include my players backstories into the lore as much as I can. Its far more fun to have players be a bigger part of the world and plot in my opinion. The story is about the players after all, I want each player to feel involved in the story. I dont like including combats that dont serve a purpose. Even if it is a wild animal defending its home. I want the fight to feel fun and worth something rather than just thrown in for time. If there's a fight I want players to be wondering why the monster was there, what was it doing? why attack the players. If they cant come up with a reason why should it be included in our narrative? Though I am a sucker for a very fun high stakes fight, given it makes sense to the story.
One of my players told me I also have fun tactical combats. I do like hard fights but never impossible fights. I want players to feel like they succeeded because of their own strengths not are doomed to fail because dm is against them. I am never viewing the game as DM vs player. We are crafting a story together, and while the dm makes the obstacles in the way, I am still cheering right there along with my players when they succeed.
I have helped new players learn ttrpgs (mostly because I dragged my friends into ttrpgs) and am usually willing to work with new players that want to learn. :)
