Hello, my name is Jim Canup, aka Urlord, and I have been game mastering TT-RPG since 1977. I've run many different game system during that time. Other than a few short periods her and there, I've been running a game at least once a month for all of those 43 years. I run games in my home, friends homes, on virtual table-tops, at game shops, campgrounds, major and minor conventions, even on submarines for a few years. I have always received excellent feedback from first-time and established players.
My GMing style is what I call "Guided Improvisation". That means, I have a defined structure of the adventure laid out (Adventure Outline, Places, Maps, NPCs, Monsters, Treasure, etc.), but I don't document the nitty-gritty details, (what the NPCs will say, pre-written descriptions of locations, and those sort of things). That level of detail is handled through storytelling, extemporaneously. I find this works best for me, and it tends to be much more fluid and natural.
