I played AD&D for about 6 years back in the 80's and left the hobby until about 8 years ago. In the last 8 years I have played or GM'd off and on D&D 3.5, 4E (Which I don't care for) Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu. It has taken a while to get a consistent game group together, until the last year and half. I have learned in that time that for me there is no need to play any of the D&D systems (except maybe AD&D1e occasionally) because Call of Cthulhu and games that have come out of the BRP system fit my play style and are usually superior overall. I have also started playing some Numenera and then Strange, by Monte Cook Games.
