Old gamer, 22+ years of playing and running a variety of games. I've played almost everything and while I'm picky about what I play, I'll try any variation at least once or twice. My preferences have changed over the years and my intense desire for 'crunch' has mellowed some but I still view super rules light systems with a lot of suspicion.
As of late I've been going back to my roots a bit. Fully customized GURPS campaign around a fantasy world with a unique magic system. Also starting a long-term Godbound campaign with the hopes of finally scratching that Exalted itch without the mess.
I tend towards the more simulationist side of gaming and eschew narritivist systems but I am very pro "We are all here to have fun" style GMing and usually aim for consensus on plot beats and goals of gaming. I also usually run games long term. A "short" game for me is six months. 2+ years is more common.
