Playerwise
Prefer a mature GM/group and the core mechanics system really doesn't really matter. I have 25+ years under my belt, predominantly as a GM, and have run the gamut of different rpgs from simple to complex, fantasy/scifi/horror/swordsandsandals/postapoc/superhero/cyberpunk/etc. I enjoy roleplaying, immersion, investment in the character as well as exploring the campaign setting/ambiance, purposeful combat, and comprehensive, interesting narratives. I'm definitely a team player and can fill whatever role is necessary from a party face to a support character. I consider my player decorum to be amiable, respectful of the other players and GM, I show up on time, and contribute.
If I read suitable for you/your game, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks in advance.

GM
Prefers older (30+), more mature and experienced players.
The focus of my campaigns are generally humanocentric and less fantastic/more realistic.

1)How would you describe your DM style?
1. First and foremost, as a DM, I am the arbiter of the campaign world I've created, not the grand high know it all of whatever system I'm currently running. I'm also very fair in my decisions. I offer the illusion of a sandbox game - I say "illusion" because I can't prepare for every contingency no matter how well I know my players. I'm also descriptive - I write my flavor text ahead of time - and I'm well prepared.

2)What is the type of player your looking for aside from a roleplayer?
2. One that understands that compatibility and cooperation drive the party. People that set their own pace and promote their own agenda. People that enjoy immersion as well as having a relaxed, social experience. Those that respect the ambiance of the setting and work within what I offer rather than just pitching me the idea to play race/class X when none exist in the campaign. I understand that some people want to play characters that are more lone wolf or want to be evil, which is fine. This is still a cooperative venture and those guys still have to know how to function, as a character and player, within the confines of group-play mentality. Players that are respectful of other players.

3)How long have you been DMing?
3. Roughly 25 years.

4)How lax are you with the rules?
4. I'm not for the most part. I will make rulings on the spot to expedite gameplay or mitigate a bogdown of pacing. But, you know, sometimes sometthing doesn't make much sense, and there's RAW, and blah blah blah. I stick to the rules and if there's a change, it's usually a consensus that everyone agrees on.

5)If I came to you with a homebrew idea that was sane (i.e. an expanded poison list), what would you do?
5. If it was sane and fit within the atmosphere of the campaign world, I'd likely let you run with it. I would have to think on the concept and possibly run it past the other group members.

6)What are 3 things that a player could do to bug you?
6. You only want 3? :P Can't make it to the session time on time even though the time hasn't changed in a year. Metagames. Attempts to micromanage or parent other players. Tries to exert agency over the pace of the game at the expense of others' interest in what is occurring at the moment. Intentionally looks for and tries to exploit grey area rulings, gets upset over trivialties, tries to impose agency over another player's character for whatever reason, "ballhogs" or "spotlights" continually and at the expense of the other players, talks far too much (non game/session related topics), feels the need to litigate rules, assumes that he/she is a co-DM, gets/is intoxicated/inebriated, is far too campy/goofy or far too serious/deadpan/edgy and is generally oblivious to the fact that he/she meets the criteria for any or all of the above listed points.

7)How intelligent do you play your monsters?
7. Depends on their stats and also depends on my interpretation of the creature, it's ecology and role in said ecosystem, how said creature would function in a real world setting, etc.

8)If a player breaks a rule or is simply being an ass, how will you handle it?
8. The same way I always do - stop the game and tell them they're breaking a rule, being an ass, and wasting everyone else's time. Generally the person doing that is the last to know (unless they're a malicious troll that lives for this sort of thing) and the one wondering why everyone is quiet. I don't suffer adults that act like children.

9)Lets say my application catches your eye. Would you be willing to have a more in depth discussion on the world to fit my character in it?
9. Definitely. I wish more players approached games with that sort of thinking.

10)You mentioned something about banned classes/races and homebrew rules, could you go more into that?
10. I choose to allow certain races and classes to suit the ambiance of my campaigns. I often feel that people who choose non-human races still tend to approach them through a human lens, which in my opinion, defeats the point of playing something exotic. Ultimately, I use the mechanics for the system and then alter what I wish to create the setting for the narrative I'm seeking to achieve. Also, I have a tendency of reskinning monsters as I see fit and don't necessarily follow the descriptions, ecology, social organizations, etc of the creatures presented available in any of the sourcebooks.

And finally, I'm not interested in debating the mechanics of this system nor am I in anyway obliged to cater to overly demanding players. If you feel that my campaign(s) aren't right for you, then there's plenty others out there.
