Games: I'm very flexible and willing to look at just about any system.
Hi there! I go by Rani. I'm a woman in my 30s with a great love of character-driven and roleplay-heavy games. I got my start with tabletop games maybe 7 or 8 years ago, mainly with rules-lite games in the pbta family. Though I do find I love a bit more crunch than that, and have since been playing D&D, Savage Worlds, and love to check out new systems as well.
I'm someone who gets very immersed in story, atmosphere, characters and love seeing how a story unfolds and what trials and tribulations everyone's characters go through. I build characters first based on a concept, and don't really think too much about optimization beyond making sure they won't drag down the group entirely (I love a frail character, but I also love their story enough to try and make sure they won't trip and die).
I adore grabbing onto dangerous hooks, playing into themes of fear and dread and it's wonderful rolling low and seeing just what the DM has in store. I enjoy a good mix of combat and exploration and puzzles, and love a sense of danger in the game, world, and story. But I aim to inject roleplay into every aspect of the game, so I do tend to look at combat and such as an extension of the roleplay instead of a different part of the game.
While I have a lot of love for play-by-post games, I really have grown fond of playing over voice chat and much prefer the pacing that allows. I also have pretty bad social anxiety, so it can normally take me a few sessions to get comfy with a new group and start talking up more. Sadly, this means one-shots are particularly challenging for me and aren't something I normally look for unless its with a group I've already played with for a while.
