Hello, my name is Tim and I live in the U.K. I first began playing RPG's in the 1980's with Holmes 'Blue Box' D&D and then 1st ed AD&D. I'm also very interested in tabletop miniature war gaming, so I enjoy rpg games which provide opportunities for tactical decision making and allow for realistic combat.
On returning to the hobby, I started a RPG group with school students, which inspired me to GM within the wider community. Overall, I prefer a more 'sandbox' style of play, in contrast to linear, episodic games. Also, games that focus on player skill and resource management are more to my taste than a storytelling approach or deep character development. Essentially this means, I approach RPG's as a survival game, meaning players focus on the careful management of their characters resources and the use of cunning tactics&strategy to overcome adversaries and/or challenges, which are thrown at them.
