I'm a long time reader of fantasy novels and have gotten back in to playing D&D relatively recently (2018). I played Original D&D and also AD&D2e back in the late 80's and 90's and then took a long time off from actually playing. Over the last 2+ years, I've enjoyed 5e, but have found I like an OSR-style of play. I like simple game mechanics and simple character creation. I've come to believe the more rules in a system slows the game and the more defined character options available actually means less options.
I have not played any other systems than D&D, but am eager to learn any of them. I tend towards low fantasy, low level games, but my first priority is a quality, consistent group. Only look for weekdays M-Th and game times starting between 6pm and 8pm EST lasting 3-4 hours are best. I've also found that pay to play is not my thing, so only interested in free games.
