Started with the old Moldvay, "D&D Basic Set," (complete with dice and crayon) and have been gaming ever since. Thanks Dad!
In longer campaigns, I prefer exploring complex worlds like in "Game of Thrones." I like players who can think creatively on their feet in different situations, and don't always pursue the easiest path.
If I'm your player, expect me to support the feel and tone of your game world, and try to keep the other players focused on long-term campaign goals. I will work at identifying my PC's personality and make it consistent and interesting without trying to overshadow the group or it's goals.
If I'm your GM, I will do my best to provide an immersive experience, always be fair, and give each PC a chance to shine.
Games I've GM'd on Roll20:
D&D 5E
Pathfinder (mostly just Free RPG Day adventures these days)
Pacific Rim (started as homebrew rules; later converted to FATE)
Tales from the Loop (kids, dinos, and time warps!)
Games I've played on Roll20:
Atomic Highway (Mad Max the RPG? Yes!!!)
D&D 5E
Night's Black Agents (because vampires and secret societies rule everything!)
Paranoia (2nd edition - still the best edition IMO)
Pathfinder
Star Wars RPG (FFG) (Maybe it was the GM, but I'm not a fan of the dice system)
Temple of Elemental Evil (the board game)
Other games I have experienced in-person:
13th Age (good bits worth stealing for a D&D game)
All Flesh Must Be Eaten (fun for one-shots, but I'm zombie'd out lately)
Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer (still a favorite, and very cinematic)
Battletech (the miniatures game; some classics never die!)
Broadsword! (boardgame, but it is very nearly a D&D game)
The Burning Wheel (I've played it twice, ever. Not my favorite system.)
Bunnies and Burrows (a classic! esp. if you enjoy Watership Down)
Call of Cthulhu (most versions...it's up to 7E now--sheesh!)
Cat by John Wick (great for younger players!)
Conan RPG (from Modiphius; 2d20 system; good flavor through the mechanics)
Crimson Skies (miniatures game; looking to mash this with a more typical RPG)
D20 games (D20 Modern/Spycraft/Stargate SG-1; and a bunch of mini-games)
Do: Pilgrims of the Flying Temple (great for younger players!)
Don't Rest Your Head
Dragon Age RPG (it's a lot like D&D, so I play D&D and steal good bits from DA)
Dragon Quest (an oldie, but a goodie; short-lived, but I may try to resurrect it)
Dread (preferably using Giant Jenga!)
Dresden Files RPG
D&D (all editions! I enjoy 5e the most, but will play one-shots for any edition)
The Fall of Magic (wonderful storytelling game suitable for all ages!)
Fate Core (my current system of choice for most non-fantasy one-shot games)
Feng Shui (1E/2E; fast-paced action movie feel!)
Fiasco!
Firefly RPG (not the same as Serenity RPG...confusing, I know)
Gamma World (all editions! I prefer 2e or the latest 7e version with the cards)
Ghostbusters (who you gonna call? PM me if you GM this!)
Golden Sky Stories (best suited for younger anime fans)
Kingdom of Nothing (homeless bums the RPG?! Adult themes; not for kids)
Legend of the Five Rings RPG (all editions, even the d20 one; NOT the card game)
Marvel Heroic RPG (perfect for a G.I. Joe or Transformers conversion!)
Mecha vs. Kaiju (FATE system; perfect for a Pacific Rim game!)
Mouse Guard (Burning Wheel system; I love the mice, not the system)
Mutant: Year Zero (+ Genlab Alpha, et. al.)
Night's Black Agents (GUMSHOE system; conspiracy theories + vampires!)
Paranoia (1E/2E/XP; now it's just "Paranoia"; Happiness is mandatory!)
Pathfinder 1e/2e
A Penny For Your Thoughts
Qin: The Warring States (this is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the RPG!)
Savage Worlds (various "worlds" but I enjoy "Indy Jones" style danger/exploration)
Serenity RPG (I aim to misbehave!)
Shadowrun (1E/2E...okay, it's been a while; I've heard 5E is time consuming)
Star Frontiers (a TSR classic!)
Stargate SG-1 (D20; yes, we blew up a planet! It wasn't me, I swear!)
Star Wars (d6; Saga; FFG)
Supernatural RPG (homebrew based on Unisystem rules; Angel/Buffy)
Swords of the Serpentine (GUMSHOE; think Conan-esque with magic)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG (i played this with a childhood friend back when it was only a B&W comic, and I thought it sounded so stupid...who knew it would get popular?!)
Tenra Bansho Zero (an incredibly different anime RPG; translated from Japanese!)
Threadbare RPG (ever wanted to play Toystory the RPG? This is it! All ages!)
Timewatch (GUMSHOE system; I totally rescued myself from that exploding train!)
Top Secret: New World Order (the newer version of Top Secret RPG!)
Top Secret RPG (a TSR classic...did you know agents had to buy underwear?)
Werewolf (2nd edition)
X-Wing (the miniatures game)
...and ALSO several homebrew and playtest rulesets as well.
RPG games I look forward to trying out:
10 Candles (dark storytelling game performed by candlelight...VERY good reviews)
City of Mist (it's on my list...not at the top, but not on the bottom either)
Kids on Bikes, Kids on Brooms, & Teens in Space (same ruleset for all 3)
Mork Borg (D&D OSR, but with attitude!)
Mortal Coil (I've heard amazing play reports from friends...must play soon!)
Owl Hoot Trail (owlbears and gunslingers in the Wild West! Bring it!)
Things from the Flood (it's a grown up Tales from the Loop!)
Boardgames I look forward to trying out:
Captain Sonar (like Battleship! but with 2 teams of 4-players; plays fast!)
Gloomhaven (sort of like D&D? I've heard you can have a campaign)
Scythe (Already own it; I've only heard good things about this)
Terraforming Mars (One ticket to Mars please!)
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, or failed to update the latest games, but you get the idea. I have left off most boardgames in general, but if you've put in the work to convert ANY boardgame to Roll20, I sincerely appreciate the time and effort it takes to put that together!
I do feel boardgames and RPGs are best enjoyed in person, but understandably, COVID has made us all need to adapt. Please stay healthy! And game on!
Hey! You read my whole profile! That makes you awesome!
