I enjoy keeping the "role" in roleplaying, as the cliche goes. :) The most enjoyable part of any game for me is playing the character. I've played a lot of different systems/settings for that reason. It's fun and interesting to explore different kinds of games.
Unlike a lot of folks, D&D was not my first game, and maybe partially for that reason, it's not my favourite. It's not that I don't like fantasy (or maybe I should say high fantasy) games, but I feel like D&D has its own world and paradigm that isn't exactly the fantasy world I'm looking for.
I'm open to so many different games that it would be a huge list to list them. I have a Discord community (I know, me and everyone else and their uncle) where we like to play different games than you commonly see on Roll20. Some examples of lesser-known games we've played are: Spire, Blades in the Dark, Monster of the Week, Alas for the Awful Sea, Ghastly Affair, Ghosts of Albion, and Witch: Fated Souls.
Our group is made up mostly of folks who've been playing together for a while, so we know we can count on each other and not have to take the risks that come with trying out someone new on Roll20. If you've been on Roll20 even a little while, you know what I mean. At the same time, we did find each other from Roll20 originally for the most part, so it's just a matter of finding the people who will stick around and become friends. :)
