A long-time role-player who enjoys a little hack-n-slash but really enjoys a good story more.
To me, a good role-play session is not the GM telling the story and having the players just roll some dice to overcome monsters. RP should be a collaboration, and a good GM is flexible, inventive, and simply able to roll with whatever oddball things come up. This is the way I GM games, because I know that I no matter how much planning I do, the PCs will always come up with something I did not expect.
