I've played for long enough to be choosy about who I play with, having learned in my youth that politely suffering through problem players, poor manners, and inartful storytelling gets in the way of finding an actual gem of a creative experience, so I don't do that anymore.
I optimize for personality and utility in characters. I'm a student of human behavior and interaction, and use that knowledge daily to work with mundane teams. This is my hobby because it affords me the opportunity to use those skills to breathe life into odd things. I seek novelty in my character archetypes, with an eye toward game balance, party cohesion, and utility within a team.
