Just another random roleplayer on the west coast in Seattle, WA. I'm 41, and have been playing various TTRPGs games since I was 11. (I sometimes feel old, pfft.) Role Play > Murder hobos, please. (I don't need constant combat to have fun). Seriously, if you're not akin to a Critical Role style game, with actual character and NPC improv/acting interactions and open choices and heaps of 'downtime' sessions; not constant meta play, optimisation talk and railroading my actions, I'll bow out.
Mechanics wise, I love systems with some crunch and some fluff, not just one or the other. (GURPS and FATE are two I dislike, while FFG's Star Wars is perfect, IMO).
That's just my style and issue though. I want to live another life (not just fight) in games now. If that's not your jam, more power to you. Play your way. That's the beauty of RPGs, and the reality of us people not always agreeing.
Came here while the pandemic moved real life games, to this format. If I can find a decent a group/games on here that aren't local, I'll stay if/when all is said and done.
Hope you stay safe and good gaming.
