Once Upon a Time...

My friends looked at each other, uncomfortably shuffling in their seats. "But who's going to be the DM now?" they asked. My round 10-year-old face was full of confusion, because my mom had just handed me back the DnD books I had given over to her when she had agreed to be our DM. She had a soft smile on her face and said "You kids have fun".

It didn't help that earlier that day I had confidently announced to my friends at school that I had a great game called Dungeons & Dragons prepared and that everyone should come to my place. And here they were now. Gone was my smile as I stood in horror over the fact that suddenly we had no DM on our very first session. It was time to act. I stood up on my chair and told my friends not to worry for I was going to be their DM and take them on an amazing adventure.

My name is Hannu and I'm the founder of Dragonworks. When I volunteered to be the DM for my friends after school 27 years ago, I had no idea what I was signing up for. But I'm glad I did because that choice set me on a lifelong path of epic storytelling.

We host 400+ sessions a month for 400+ active weekly players (plus hundreds more occasional players). We have both free one-shots and paid campaigns, up to you which you prefer. Our one-shots are typically hosted by novice DMs who are still training, while our professional-level DMs run campaigns.
