Roll20 XP: Learning.
PnP XP: Big fan, Basic to Intermediate understanding of mechanics due to decades of D&D PC gaming. Willing to learn/play 3E and newer but 2E holds a special place for me. Favorite system/setting is AD&D 2e/Forgotten Realms.
I was first introduced to D&D, inadvertently, by my grandmother somewhere between age 8-10 I believe. She brought home a supplement which I've always, even then, thought was a guide on mapping dungeons but was probably just a book of random maps. I doubt she even recognized what it was for, I on the other hand was fascinated.
I have only ever been able to play electronic versions though as I never found anyone around me interested in learning. As such my first "real" experience with D&D came when I found "Pool of Radiance" for the NES and despite being a simplified port of the rules I was hooked the moment "my" feet touched the dock. This led to the GoldBox series and eventually a playable demo for a little known game called "Baldur's Gate"...mind blown. Then came "Neverwinter Nights", online/group play, and lastly the short lived...somewhat disappointing... "Heroes of Neverwinter" browser game.
