My name is David, I live in Texas and my career has been making sure people with disabilities have safe places to live. It can be stressful at times and gaming is one of my main means to unwind.
My first delve into D&D was 1976, the White Box. We didn’t know how to play. Our characters’ names were our names backwards, so I was Divad. The way they described hit dice was 1st level 1DX, 2nd level 2Dx, etc. So we thought that when you leveled up you rolled that level number of hit dice. So 1 HD at 1st, 2 at second, 10 at 10th. So we had characters with 500 HP! They published a Deities and Demigods supplement so we went through the book and killed all the gods and took all their stuff….
Fast forward to now. I mostly DM. I had a 3 year campaign with cancer, but appear to have exited that dungeon. I had to put all gaming to the side, so I'm eager to dice clatter again! I DM games for new and newish players, plus one of my best friends who I introduced to D&D 35 years ago. I’m old! But Gandalf old!
