Why, hello there!

My name is Nonimo and apparently I've been DMing role-playing games since back before I even knew that role-playing games actually existed. As a child, I homebrewed my own games with very loose rules and often without any dice rolls. I took inspiration from games such as Diablo 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Arcanum, Nox, Fallout 1 & 2 and even Pokemon and Goosebumps! During recess or after school, kids would be comming up to me and ask for me to "Game" for them. I really don't remember how it actually started, but after a while of doing it, I had garnered a new moniker among some of my friends. I was the Game Master!

When I grew older and discovered the internet, I started learning about actual role-playing games and how rule heavy a lot of them are. I never got a chance to actually played any of them. I tried joining online gaming groups, but the ones I had found were too elitist and didn't want to have to bother teaching a newbie. (I remember joining a 3.5e DnD game and wanting to be a Drow Druid who grew mushrooms on his own, then the DM was all "Ugh! Not another Drizzt wannabe! This is a good campaign!" I didn't even know who Drizzt was!) So I just dropped the hobby entirely, as I had thought DMing like I did when I was young was far too childish of an activity.

Several years later, I came upon Wil Wheaton's Tabletop series, it had opened my eyes to the rabbit hole that is tabletop. Before that, the mere mention of tabletop games will just ring "Monopoly" and "Snake and Ladders" in my head. I slowly got invested in a wide array of tabletop games, it wasn't long until my vigor for DMing rpgs was reignited! I found out about this amazing place called roll20 and now here I am! Jotting down several incoherent notes, creating crazy voices through discord and rolling virtual dice with friends all across the globe!
