42 years ago, I started playing 1st edition D&D when I was 13 years old. I played for about 10 years straight. June 2019 my friends and I started playing a new 1E campaign. I play a 2E campaign and I've started a 5E campaign. They are a lot of fun. Very different than i am used to. In 1E we build our characters and they become legacy characters. As long as they survive their stories continue you emotional attachment grows. I'm finding out in 5E you build and play your characters until the end of a story. Then you start over, new characters with all new stories. Very different for me, but it's a lot of fun.
I'm a retired Soldier with time on my hands, lol. I have been the primary DM but I also play characters in two other campaigns.
