Greetings. I'm Jim (44) from the UK. I'm available any day of the week, 2pm till 11pm GMT+1. I have a good microphone, but no webcam.
I have role-played on and off for the last twenty-five years or so, mainly AD&D 2nd edition (as a teen) - first in a dank, Victorian basement at a mates house, then at a shady probation hostel with the landlord, a couple of buddies, and three of the more agreeable tenants.
I'm a long-time computer gamer, dating back to the Atari ST, and have been using Roll20 for a while (though not much in recent years). I've been reading Jack Vance and Fritz Lieber again recently (Dying Earth, Fafhrd and the Mouser), so I've now got a hankering for some D&D!
My work and social life has been varied, I've travelled a lot, and I like a good festival (Glastonbury, Sonisphere, The Big Chill) - so I've got a few tales outside of geekery.
Character-wise - I like playing Dwarves, and scouty/thiefy types, but I'll have a go at whatever gels with the story and the other players. I'm no thespian, but I do try and make a bit of effort to roleplay and engage with the story - this being the main reason I play table-top RPG's. I'm not one for stats, or rules pedantry, I prefer the least amount of crunch needed to play - roleplay is meant to be fluid and fun, not calculus. I play for great stories, high deeds, and obstacles to overcome - whether by guile, sorcery, or a blow to the head.
