About me
One of our neighbors had a house fire and everything was ruined or smoke damaged. The family gave away everything that was salvaged and moved away. A smoke-scented boxed copy of TSR's Dungeons and Dragons Basic Set fell into the hands of a 12-year-old boy named Paul. I figured out the rules then got my friends and family into playing. I've been the forever DM since. I've DM'd all editions of D&D. I tend to cater to an older crowd (my players have aged with me), though I do have a lot of young players in my newer games and one-shots. I've trained a lot of DMs along the way and that has been extremely rewarding. I love helping DMs find their own voice and style.

I've enjoyed D&D 5E since it launched. I love the simplified rules set and the fact that so many people are familiar with the game. I am slowly working my way into new games.

You can expect a challenge from my games, with a 25,25,50 split between exploration, role-playing, and tactics. I find the best traps are the ones that players dig themselves into.

GM style
I'm a very procedural DM. I have a process and a way of doing most things. I enjoy tactics and combat with 5E. I enjoy creating worlds and tailoring the monsters to fit the party. I try to keep it simple. I have enough moral ambiguity in my life without adding it to my games. My games are generally: challenge, reward, and or consequences. I do have a 30-year ongoing campaign in a living world called Dragons Run, but I mostly do modules for folks other than my family and friends.
