'If I had a big ol' pile of cash, I'd build a wheel of pain...'

I've been playing Role Playing Games since the late 80's. A friend brought his Dungeons & Dragons books in to school, and a few of us soon found ourselves huddled around a library table, delving into dark dungeons and slaying all manner of beasts. That Christmas I was given my first Dungeons & Dragons books by my Grand Parents - they had already allowed me, at a very young age, to watch John Borman's 'Excalibur' - and I was soon running my own Dungeons & Dragons games, madly drawing maps and building adventures.

I've both played in and run many games since those early days, finally finding my way into a good regular group that provided a good few years of regular gaming, but as always happens, friends move away, and groups disband. It was during a conversation with one of these friends who had moved interstate that I was told of Roll20. We had been lamenting the fact we had not played a game for what seemed like ages, and we decided we would check it out. This was back in 2014, and with a few hiccups along the way, here we are now. I can honestly say, that Roll20 has exceeded my expectations, not only as a way to play with absent friends, but also as a tool to meet new players, and play new games that I would never have been able to do otherwise.

I have challenged myself to continue improving as a role playing gamer. Both as a player and game master. I believe that Roll20 can help me do this by taking me out of my comfort zone, by enabling me to play with new people I'm not familiar with, and running games for players that I don't know.

What am I playing?

I'm currently only playing in one game on Roll20.
• 'Curse of Strahd' - Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition campaign run by Matthew

What am I running?

I'm not currently running any games, but I do have a few in the planning stages.
• 'To Race the Thunder' - A 2d20 Conan game using the currently available quickstart rules that can be found here. I'm hoping to run this a few times for different groups of players soon, so if you're interested let me know and I will get in touch when it's ready.
• 'Savage Tide' - A 5th Edition D&D conversion of the 3.5 Edition campaign of the same name from Dungeon Magazine, which was itself a re-imaging of the classic BECMI edition module X1: The Isle of Dread. I'm adapting it for Forgotten Realms, and I still have a fair bit of work to go on it.
• Finally, I'm keen to get a Star Wars (D6 WEG 2nd Edition) campaign going as well. It will be set in the Rebellion Era, and will focus on a Tramp Freighter crew who slowly get dragged into the Galactic War.

Gaming Systems

In the past I have played and enjoyed:
• Advance Dungeons & Dragons (1st & 2nd Edition)
• Dungeons & Dragons (BECMI, 3rd, 3.5, 4th, and 5th Editions)
• Dungeon Crawl Classics
• Middle Earth Role Playing (1st & 2nd Edition)
• Shadowrun (1st & 2nd Edition)
• Star Frontiers (2nd Edition)
• Star Wars (D6 WEG 1st & 2nd Editions)
• Vampire: The Masquerade (2nd Edition Revised)

There are many games I want to add to this list. Games that I've either had the books on my shelf for the better part of 20 years, or games that have always intrigued me, but I've never gotten around to playing. Chief among these are:
• 7th Sea (1st Edition)
• Battletech
• Call of Cthulhu
• Eclipse Phase
• Fading Suns
• King Arthur Pendragon
• Mutants & Masterminds
• Traveller
• Vampire: The Dark Ages
