I've been playing RPG's since 1980 when I started playing Basic D&D and immediately followed it up with AD&D (1st ed.). I began DMing in 1981. I have played many genres of RPG's and several strategy games. I began playing Star Wars with the original RPG by West End Games, using the pip (d6) system with character archetypes. I stopped upgrading AD&D after 3.5 since I wasn't interested in a game system that turned it into a paper version of the MMOs. Some of the other genres I really like (beyond D&D and Star Wars) include Spy Craft, Boot Hill, Traveller, and Cyberpunk (those are the top of the list). I prefer the interaction and freedom of table top RPGs vs. MMO or other computer/AI "RPGs". I have now taken up D&D 5E and I like it! It seems like a mix of 2E and 3.5E with a couple good elements from 4E.
