So, I've been playing RPG's for many, many years - I started when I was still in middle school and the original D&D Basic Set caught my eye. I haven't looked back since. The games I've played in recent years have been Hero System, Battletech, D&D 3.5, Pathfinder 1e, Shadowrun, Battlelords of the 23rd Century, World of Darkness games (Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage, mostly), and Palladium System games (especially RIFTS). There have been many more that I've dabbled in, but it's been a while.
To me, it's role-playing over roll-playing - that is to say, I much prefer acting out what a character would do in a certain situation rather than trying to get the dice to do what I want. Mind you, a good dungeon-crawl is fun once in a while too, I just prefer the social aspects of the game.
