I've enjoyed my dance with RPGs for the last 24 years. Been through a couple of systems, 2 or 3 sets of dice, and my share of char sheets with some fond pc's.
What I enjoy most of them, is not the mechanics or the obstacles to be beaten (some of them are flipping great, btw). I'm into it more for the camaraderie and environment they generate when everybody sits and tries to have fun through this obstacles as a group.
I've had a couple of loooooong periods between playing, but i like to roll up my sleeves and go through the material in order to have one more chance at throwing those dice.
Although I do enjoy playing with people who can immerse themselves completely in the character, I'm more into playing pranksters with some pop-culture off-game references that may endear me more to the characters. I do stop any pranking if it's detrimental to the enjoyment of the others playing.
Most of my experience with WoD, comes from playing with V:TM, but I don't click completely with the vampire as character theme.
Enjoyed immensely seeing "Titansgrave: Ashes of Valkana" since it reminded me of some great moments in my past.. (5 Gold AND A PARTY!!!!), and liked the stunt dice for that extra touch.
Lately i've had the opportunity to play with amazing people through Numenera, Godbound, and D&D 5e. The last system has let me had my fun finding some good mixes of background, hero material and fun (i've yet to play my urban bounty hunter barbarian gnome on a dog mount)
