Hi, my name is Alex. I'm a dude in my late 40's and have been GMing for over 30 years. I'm in Montreal, which puts me in the eastern time zone, but I've played with Brits, people from continental Europe, a whole host of Americans, fellow Canucks from other time zones and even people from Japan and Australia when we can get our schedules to synch up. I've played and run more games than I care to think about. I have a great deal of affection for Swords & Sorcery style fantasy (think Frazetta art, his Death Dealer in particular, Robert E Howard's Conan, Karl Edward Wagner...ect) and so it will come as no surprise that Conan: Adventures in an age undreamed of by Modiphius has become one of my all time favorite games, along with Barbarians of Lemuria. I'm also very fond of the various Warhammer Fantasy and 40K RPGs. I've also been exploring the various OSR games out there with a particular affinity being developed for Stars Without Number and Lamentations of the Flame Princess. I've developed an affection for Shadow of the Demon Lord and find that it fits my style of GMing quite well, both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics. Am willing to run or play just about everything, but prefer rules light games for use with Roll20. My style as a GM is "fast and cinematic". I really dislike heavy crunch games where action slows to a grind. I enjoy the narrative side of gaming and will put effort into creating fun and memorable NPCs, but I struggle with voices. I do them, but poorly : )
