I'm semi-new to Roll20. I was first introduced to Dungeons and Dragons back in the early 80's with my Aunt. Back then, when we did have miniatures, there were hand painted pewter. We played a few games with her and then stopped playing.

I didn't play again for almost 20 years when I found out that some friends were playing. Of course, the rules had changed a ton and I couldn't remember much about how to play. But like most of my obsessions, once I picked it up, I learned it fairly quick. We were playing 3.5. When 4.0 came our I read some of the playtest books and rules. I didn't like what it said. So our group never did play 4.0. We stuck with 3.5. Then 5.0 came out and we were hesitant to play that, because we were used to 3.5 and knew it back to back. But we eventually gave it a try. We are still learning some things in it, and have house ruled some of our favorite 3.5 stuff.

Then COVID hit and we were not supposed to keep playing. We did for a while, but eventually decided to try different platforms. That's what brought me to Roll20. I didn't mess around with it, I jumped head first and paid the subscription. I've bought several books, and will probably buy more.

I LOVE the dynamic lighting and some of the API's. I have written hundreds of macros in excel, BASIC, and other VBA based systems. I've even tried my had at a few LSP routines for autocad. The macros and syntax for this system are clunky. But copy/paste has always been my friend.

Some day, when and if I have time to comit, I want to DM a game with new people. My current games sometimes go months between sessions because of life. Music and games are about all I want to do. Engineering just pays the bills, LOL. I created my image as meldind of two or three images. Yes I play the bass-trombone. I am also a registered professional engineer in multiple states. But games (especially the long term ones like DnD) are my favorites.

Enjoys Playing
