I am a thirty-eight year-old English, French, and Russian teacher. In the middle 2000s, I played a variety of pen-and-paper role-playing games. I started with Mage, then did some D&D, then Vampire, and finally Trinity. I also was involved with a Wraith LARP.
In my admittedly small amount of spare time, I write fiction. I've written several novels (first draft only :(), a few short stories, and too many poems to count. I've had an article on NaNoWriMo published by Vision, and have a self-published farcical fantasy. Because of this background, my RPG player style tends to be more RP and less meta-practical. By this, I mean that when I consider stat/talent choices or in-game actions, I think more about what makes sense for the character than what would actually be useful for the situation. I particularly love scenarios where something my character doesn't know (but I do) causes problems.
I've come here because, as a teacher at age 38, the only people I can find around me who play RPGs are my students. . . and well, I can't play with them! I have a couple (2) friends who like playing RPGs, but we've been trying to set something up for two years now, and nothing. So, I'm going ahead and looking for something here.
It has been quite awhile since I've played, but while my knowledge of rules and mechanics may be lacking, by interest in and ability with character development is high.
