I've mostly DM'ed in the past, but I have played as a Paladin, a Fighter, and as a Mage in the past. I have recently created a Blood Hunter Half-Elf who goes by the name Nightbane.
Before becoming a Blood Hunter, Faetyn Wildrunner lived as part of a nomadic community of Half-Elves. One day, a member of the tribe was found beaten with a message pinned to her body. The message made it clear that they were not welcome in the area. This was not the first time that the tribe had been threatened, but that night was the last time that Faetyn would see his tribe. While he slept, the tribe was attacked by something evil. He vaguely remembers his father dragging him through the woods. Otherworldly howls and wails filled the dark woods as his father fought off the evil and continued to a clearing. Faetyn's eyes closed for what he thought would be the last time when he saw an unfamiliar face. He awoke in a shrine of Blood Hunters. They healed his wounds and when he was well enough, they trained him in the ways of the Order of the Ghostslayer.
Not one word was ever spoken of the night he was found. Whenever Faetyn asked, he was told that all would be revealed when he was ready and not before. Though Faetyn patiently awaits the information he was promised, he still continues to search for clues on his own.
He no longer has ties to his past so he no longer uses his given name. As Nightbane, he defends those who cannot defend themselves and hunts the creatures of the night that prey on the living.
