I've been playing rpgs since 1994 when I went to my first LARP. Since then, I've been a player and GM (I prefer the term Storyteller), gaming such systems as D&D 3.5e, Vampire: the Masquerade, L5R, Cyberpunk 2020, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Mage: the Ascension, Changeling: the Dreaming and Men In Black. In the past, I have belonged to the RPGA and the Camarilla (both the NPO and White Wolf take over).
As a player, I enjoy playing flawed, dynamic characters and well as your run-of-the-mill trope characters. I have a small background in theatre and enjoy adding my skills in improve to the personality of every character I play. My characters always have motivations and goals, and I use those to keep my character's fresh and active in games. In addition to playing a wide range of characters, I as a player leave all calls to the GM, and only question calls if I feel that something is truly unjust (i.e. a GM killing a PC just because they're on a power trip (seen it happen)).
As a GM, I feel that it's my job to create interesting plots that can engage each player bringing them into the world we are all creating. I also believe heavily that the story is more important than the rules. I admit that I don't that the rules memorized, nor do I care to memorize them. I would rather bend or break the rules to tell a great story than follow the rules to the letter and produce an okay story. It's also my mission as a storyteller to bring out the best in my players, and I do a lot of this through acting and having believable interactions with the PCs.
