Been roleplaying for a decade but in terms of tabletopping it's only been about five years, give or take a year. Started with a trio of buddies and the intro adventure in a D&D 4e starter set. It was a bit on and off like that for a year or so afterward. I ended up DMing most of the time because my buddies didn't fancy it. I got kind of annoyed about that so I sought some way of getting involved in a game as a player. With very little local groups, that I'm aware of, I headed on to the internet and quickly found Roll20. Been GMing, DMing, playing and making merry with folks from all over the world since :D
I don't really play 4e very much any more but I'm always ready for a game of 5e. I've DMed just about twice as much as I've played and it's most certainly my favourite edition. I've been dabbling with it since the playtest! Though I admit the only other edition I've dabbled with as a DM was 3.5 and would like to see what basic and/or 2e is like. More recently I have played, GMed and loved Dungeon World. A great, if a little unknown, system that is based off Apocalypse World and uses a more collab-narrative focused approach to roleplay than I experienced with D&D. I love Dungeon World! Another game I've discovered recently is the Fate system and I've read the CORE system a bit and if anyone is willing to teach a newbie I'd just love to give this a try.
I've not played many other systems but, to be honest, there's no system I wouldn't dip my toe in. Roleplaying is a group thing and any great group is great for me.
