As a teen, I played a lot of D&D. Soon I found class-less, skill-based d100 rules superior by far.
I eventually found RuneQuest and enjoyed it much more due to the engaging play and sense of realism. In real life you may have occupations, but no classes and level. This nonsense is for other players.
