My DnD adventure began in the late 70s. We used Chainmail for the rules of combat and the 3-volume set of the "White Box" that came with 6 sided dice. My grandfather lived near Lake Geneva so I was able to visit the Dungeon Hobby Shop - a house with a store that sold all the TSR games and accessories. At the time the only place you could buy TSR merch at a storefront. Attended some early GenCons in or around Lake Geneva. Played off and on in undergrad and grad school and then some one shots at hobby shops and libraries for the next few decades. I began playing more steadily with the advent of Roll20 where you could play when it fit your schedule of work and family.
RPG game experience: D&D, AD&D, D&D thru 5e, Traveller, Boot Hill, The Morrow Project, Call of Cthulhu, Top Secret, and various one-off's from Dragon Magazine in the early 80s.
Preferred Play Style: Role-Playing. I love to engage in the story as my character. I enjoy a party that is willing to work together. I prefer the style of play in which players state what their character wants to do in character and the DM tells us what to roll. Not one for going against the philosophy of D&D. I can normally calm down the rule lawyers and will help new players so the session is not bogged down in mechanics.
When not in an RPG I enjoy my my professional life, love my family, and life is just fine when I can sit in my comfy Adirondack chair under the shade of a tree with a good book and Pimm's Cup #1...
