I began my journey into the gaming industry in Illinois in 2009. Working as an assistant manager for my hometown hobby shop, I began to cut my teeth on RPGs, playing and later running my first Dungeons & Dragons campaign. In 2013, I moved to Ohio and in 2015, I accepted the position of General Manager and Head Game Master for Northeast Ohio’s first Board Game Café. It was here that I really spread my wings and began to soar as a game master and soon found myself running tables as large as 30 players! At the height of my tenure, I was running 4 tables of RPGs per week, most of them in different systems and was “fluent” in over 10 RPG Systems. In 2018, I moved to Virginia to accept the position of Game Center Assistant Manager for the world renown Star City Games where I continue to specialize in events, content, and guest satisfaction. I began running games for my friends and coworkers from my home, but the onset of the global pandemic put a dampener on any in-person gaming sessions. After speaking with some close friends about opportunities on Roll20, I decided to form Open Heart Games and lend my skills, honed from years of experience running games for guests and providing high quality customer satisfaction, to provide a high caliber gaming experience for gamers of all walks of life and in a variety of locations. I also wanted to use this opportunity to raise money for a special charity close to my heart: Extra Life. As a child I received life-saving open heart surgery at the tender age of 2 to remedy a congenital heart disorder known as an Atrial-Septal Defect. Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO saved my life. Extra Life is a charity that benefits local children’s hospitals and each month I will be donating a portion of my proceeds to them! Open Heart Games: Gaming from the Heart!
