I have been playing D&D on and off for almost twenty years, and recently converted from 3.5 to 5e. In the past I have also dabbled in a few other RPGs and systems, including 7th Sea, CoC, WoD, and GURPS.
Currently part of two weekly groups, and I am running a bi-weekly D&D 5e game.
When time time allows, I am interested in one-shots and short campaigns, mostly to try new systems.
Looking to test out Savage Worlds, Chaosium Basic RP, Cypher, Cortex, FATE, and others. I find a lot of the worlds designed for SW, Rifts, and GURPS to be fascinating, and would be interested in experimenting.
Since I have a 5e group already, I'm most interested in the Sci-Fi, Horror, and Superhero genres, though I'm very intrigued by non-D&D Fantasy as well.
My training in creative writing and experience in playacting lend themselves readily to roleplaying, and roleplaying then also becomes a welcomed outlet for creative energies.
I prefer more serious roleplay than humorous; a good laugh is always welcomed, but I do not have time to be playing through someone's comedy routine.
I am open to running D&D campaigns from time to time, and hope to try running other systems in the future. I prefer to work episodically, with a story arc that has a conclusion.
As a party member, I like to let others choose their roles first, so I can design a character for whatever the party might be missing. I like to craft interesting characters, but tend to stay within bounds. In my experience overly eccentric characters hamper more than they help.
In addition to roleplaying, I am interested in speculative fiction, heavy metal, and professional wrestling.
I am in Eastern Time (GMT -5), but often travel to Central Time (GMT -6). Regardless of location, I usually work from 8am to 5pm Eastern, Monday-Friday.
