Started playing AD&D (1st ed.) back in the early 80's, switched to 3.5 for a number of years, and am now playing 5e. I have experience on both sides of the screen with one shots, mini campaigns, and full long term campaigns. I enjoy all 3 pillars of DnD; I love epic adventure and I crave good plot driven RP, but technical combat encounters has always been my favorite. As a player, I try to stay in character and make choices the character would make. I am a bit of a numbers nerd and love the mechanics of combat, as such I tend to lean a bit min/maxy in my character builds though I support it with story. As a DM, I try to do my homework, make connections between the characters and the NPC's, and use backstory and some accents (I have like 5 of them and it may be a bit awkward if 2 NPC's with the same accent run into each other). I really like the lore in D&D and try to make my worlds tangible and as full as I can. When not playing D&D, I am a happily married father that likes to surf, ski, play music, and coach my daughter's softball teams.
