Bio

Larry Dixon, The Gryphon King, Beloved Where'er He Goes! Effects Crew for the New Line Tolkien films, currently an illustrator for Disney & a dozen Manhattan publishers. Falconer, racecar driver, former firefighter. Guest of Honor for Gen Con 2013, with co-writer Mercedes Lackey. Judges Choice at the 42nd World Fantasy Convention Art Show. Screenwriter & actor on THE GAMERS: THE SERIES.

Fantasy/scifi field professional for 35 years and counting, mainly as a book cover artist and novelist. Began with roleplaying games in the 1970s and has written for or illustrated 60+ and counting. Generous and well-grounded.

Style of roleplaying? In short, Motive Is Everything. I work up extensive backstory and play the PC as a real person, not just a rack of numbers. I think in terms of repercussions and reputation, and tend towards informed kindness. I have played characters from 1st to 6th level in a D&D campaign without taking a point of damage just by using strategy and misdirection, without a bit of cowardice. I enjoy feeling effective in a game.

Best known for the book THE BLACK GRYPHON; best known in RPing circles for playing avians.
