Alavalor Rihorn, a half-elf Ranger/Cleric, was born in the forest of Welkwood near the city of Narwell and naval base of Safeton on the Wild Coast. Based on Elven and Half-Elf's lineage, his story begins far before his birth with the great Wars of Greyhawk. As the Orc & HobGoblin hoards stormed North to Greyhawk from The Parmarj, the King of Greyhawk knew that a defense line in the Northern region of the Wild Coast would be critical to defending the kingdom and reducing the chance that Greyhawk could fall these hoards of slavers and evil humanoids.
This is where the story of Alvalor begins with his father, Elyeras; a Half-elf priest dedicated his life to protecting the temple of Ehlonna in the city of Safeton, and his mother, Siora Valdan, an Elven Ranger of exceptional climbing and archery ability from the Cragrapid Keep. Elyeras was one of the high priests in the temple of Ehlonna governed by the Holy Temple in the Wlekwood forest lead by Ellisar's uncle Arborn, the youngest brother of Queen Aenwyn who reigned over the Welkwod Forest. . Ellisar was the youngest daughter of his cousin Rihorn who had been killed defending raids on the keep and his daughter was left in his families care. In preparation for the war, Arbrone summoned Elyeras and designated him as the protector of the city of Safeton. As the war continued, Elyeras and Siora's love grew as they fought together to irradicate the lands of evil and protect the Welkwood from anyone threatening it while ensuring the protection of Safton.
After the war, Elyeras decided to move to Cragrapid Keep and serve in the main temple under Arborne's leadership. Although lifespans vary between Half-Elves and Elves, the Goddess Ehlonna bestowed the gift of elven life on Elyeras for his servitude to the faith. Due to his exceptional nature and gift from the Goddess, Arborne agreed to the marriage of Siora and Elyeras. This union led to Alvalor and his younger brother Reyelor and sister Joyluth. As the eldest son, Alvalor took on the best traits f both his mother and father and learned the art of nature and fighting from his mother and respect for the Goddess Ehlonna from his father with devotion to the religious order. His brother tended toward nature by becoming a Ranger and his sister a Priestess in the temple.
Unfortunately, Alvalor's brother was assigned to serve as an arrow snipper on the forest's edge to protect against intruders and was assassinated by an Ogre band who placed a bounty on his brother's head. Due to this atrocity, Alvalor becomes the sworn enemy of Ogre's and Orcs, who plotted to have his brother assassinated. Because his brother fell mortally wounded, he swore to dedicate his devotion to the Ehlonna, focusing on the healing arts and use of flowers, fauna, and herds to heal and detoxify the poisoned. As such, he became obsessed with finding natural remedies that could heal when devotion was exhausted. This leads him to study the Fleshwort and Blood Root. This would help ensure he could help those in need regardless of the magic spells or potions available. Although his studies continued with religious specialization, he was urged to avenge his brother's death. After his brother's assassination, he began to focus on fine-tuning his ranger capabilities, including tracking, animal training of horses & unicorn, which favor his goddess, and endurance climbing.
