This is the stuff that comes up when GM's are looking for players, so I am just putting it here for easy access.
Name: John E.
Age: I am 43 years old.
D&D/Roll20 experience:
I played table-top games for years with most of my experience going into OD&D, AD&D, and MARVEL in the 80's and 90's. I also played some Shadowrun and White Wolf systems. I started playing D&D with the original red box set in the late 80's and continued playing and DM'ing all the way through Advanced. I quit playing D&D when they released 3.0 because I didn't want to buy everything again, and my group transitioned over to the MARVEL (FASERIP) system. We built out an entire universe using their rules, but with our own original characters, villains, settings, and other NPC's.
I started up with Roll20 a couple years ago, and I have played in several D&D campaigns, as well as run a few MARVEL campaigns.
---Current favorite character concept---
Concept #1: Female Elf Wizard (Bladesinger) - Kerianthalas "Keri" Solandril
Keri was born into the Elven royal family. As a princess of the people, she was expected to excel in her behavior and duties. This wasn't enough for the adventurous young woman, and she sought out instructors of both blade and eldritch knowledge, determined to earn her place as one of the legendary Bladesingers of old. Discovering her nighttime activities, the old King forbade her from this instruction, informing her that she would be married to an Elven noble in a pre-arranged union. Deciding to flee this fate, the young woman left the Elven kingdom to search for her own path as an adventurer.

Concept #2: Male Tabaxi Rogue (Thief) - Maximillian "Max" Greymouse
Thrown from a bridge into the gutter in a dirty burlap sack to drown as a newborn, the mewling infant drew the attention of a Night Lady. She rescued the child thinking it was a human and was surprised and delighted to find a multi-toned gray Tabaxi instead! She raised the child and trained him to help protect her working girls and bring home trinkets to sell on the black market. Max becomes fixated on "the mission" and will not stop until he has stolen his prize (of the moment.) He quickly forgets about them after the challenge is completed. He has a habit of pocketing almost anything that isn't nailed down and keeps trinkets and bits of food in his pockets for his pet mouse, Alabaster. Maximillian feels that he owes a great debt to the Night Lady that rescued him and raised him as her own. He considers the girls working in the establishment as his sisters.
What is a fond memory you have of playing D&D (or another tabletop game)?
To be honest, one of my favorite playing moments of all time was in a D&D campaign set in the Dragonlance world of Krynn. I had a Knight of the Sword named Alexander Dragonblade that was a part of a group attempting to stop a local and large goblin infestation. Tracking the horde to its source the party confronted the Hobgoblin King in his deep underground court. Alexander challenged the Hobgoblin King to combat, of course. I told the DM that I wanted to do a spin attack, swinging the sword down and back to reverse thrust the sword out behind me (the maneuver left my back to the King.) He said I would need to roll high... and I rolled a natural 20. Even tho it was verified by the player sitting next to me, the DM was giving me the stink-eye. I said: "well if you don't believe me, I'll do it again!" I rolled another natural 20 for my 2nd attack on one of the two elite guards and lopped off his head after pulling my sword out of the King's heart. With my bonus action, I did a shield bash on the second guard and stunned him. In the first round, I 1-shot the King, 1-shot one of his elite guards, and bashed the face in on the third.... the entire goblin army broke ranks and fled. It was fantastic....
My DM hated me for a minute lol.
How would you describe yourself as a player, especially in relation to the three pillars of the game: roleplay, combat, and exploration?
As a GM myself I can't help but get into character. I am a huge fan of Critical Role, and I also like to get into improv level roleplay scenarios. That being said, I really do love a good scrap. I find that there's always a good balance between these two, and it really depends on what the story is doing. That goes the same for exploration.. I am just as content exploring the inner working of a great city as I am out in the wilderness fighting monsters and finding treasure. I am a writer and storyteller, so I am happy to do whatever it is that the story needs to have happen.
What do you want to get out of this group?
A good, quality gaming experience with fun people that want to go on cool adventures. I do try to avoid rules lawyers (players,) DM harassers (players,) and pure PK DM's.
Is the game time suitable for you? Can you commit to each session date?
Yes, I am a very dedicated player. I understand how much work goes into each session, and how frustrating it can be to plan out a story for a particular character and have them not show...
