I've been roleplaying since 1992, mostly as GM. I prefer streamlined, light weight game systems, or a GM who really knows what they're doing. I'm looking to have a good time with good folks. Hopefully some memorable events, or at least some chuckles, if not full bellied, side-splitting laughs.
To me, the most important thing, is that everyone has a good time. I love a good story, I love creating a good story, but even if the story doesn't progress at all, as long as everyone has a good time, that's a win in my book!
I believe the key is to try and learn what each of my players wants from in their gaming experience, and then I do my best to provide that, if I can. I know some aren't happy if the story doesn't progress, others don't care, and others just want combat. (I can't please everyone all the time, and there's no way that all of my games work for everyone, that's just life. Different strokes for different folks! But, I do try to accommodate my players, and especially do what I can to help everyone have a good time.)
