On my DM style: I tend to be very goal oriented and like to keep the adventure moving at a decent pace. This doesn't mean I frown on roleplay but I've sat through entire sessions as a player while a bunch of players spent the entire session just selling loot. I found that not only boring but ridiculous. If you guys like the adventure and want to continue I also have just completed typing in a 7th level adventure which we can continue with. I don't like character death and I really don't like TPKs but I DO NOT NERF COMBAT. If you win a fight it will be because you earned it. I have never understood the appeal of even playing if there's no risk. As a player I love nothing more than a "Skin of your teeth" battle and it tends to show in my DMing.
I bought my first Dungeons and Dragons basic boxed set in 1983 or so. I played AD&D through college and then quit for over a decade. In 2006 I was introduced to 3.5 and then Pathfinder. I think Pathfinder is my favorite version of the game ever created and have extensive experience in actual "In person" play as mainly a GM (I still prefer DM - hard habit to break). I intend to try to get into the GM aspect on here but I need to get my feet wet so I'm looking to PLAY! I also don't get to play much because I'm always GMing.
When it comes to character selection I tend to enjoy the magical types the most with Magus being my favorite. However I can enjoy filling any shoes the party needs. When it comes to play style, I do love a good combat but I've found that if you can develop connections with the npc's and other pc's then you have more fun. I guess it depends on the GM. A good GM can make an entire session with no combat fun if they know what they're doing.
My weaknesses as a player are the fact that I do tend to be a bit of a "Know-it-all" but I try not to let it affect the game. I also love to joke and cut up and have a somewhat sarcastic and dry sense of humor. I'm also an ex-cop so I tend to curse and be a bit rough around the edges but if I say something to offend you just say so and I'll probably apologize. Probably, lol.
