I cut my teeth on RPGs at the huge coffee table in my parent's house growing up, with 2nd edition AD&D when I was in second grade. I nearly gave up on the whole thing when 4th edition came out, when I realized that I could continue playing 3.5 and no one would cut me. I was leery of Pathfinder until my brother swore that it worked just as well, and have been playing it ever since (even though I had a bad experience with D&D Nxt when it came out; that was awful to endure and has made me react to 5th edition with trepidation bordering on loathing, even if they HAVE fixed the problem).
