Blood, Sweat & Steel is a Fudge-based Sword & Sorcery tabletop RPG. It is designed for quick but detailed play. It features a number of mechanics that are unconventional, such as:
No Classes or Levels for Characters
Unified dice mechanic, every roll in the game uses a Fudge/Fate roll (4dF)
Simultaneous Actions resolution, so there are no initiative rolls or damage rolls
No HP, uses a non-linear harm system for wounds and stress
No weapon or armor stats, uses situational dramatic modifiers
non-binary outcomes, instead of pass/fail, "Yes", "Yes, but", "Yes, and", "No", "No, but," and "No, and" results for more detail
Freeform sorcery system. No spell lists. System uses a noun/verb system that has 20 Core Effects, from which any type of effect can be created
Goals-based Character Advancement, EXP is earned by accomplishing goals. EXP is spent to increase Skill levels, add new Skills, increase Attributes, and add Talents and Qualities
