I've been a fan of RPGs for as long as I can remember, and have been playing pen-and-paper for four years. I got my start in Pathfinder, and am very familiar with the system, but I'm also comfortable with the Star Wars d20 system (particularly the Revised edition) and Savage Worlds. ! I have also dabbled with Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader.
Oh, and a friend of mine made a general-use system that I rather like and am willing to share...ask me about it
I love the role-playing aspect, and greatly appreciate distinction between in-character and out-of-character, but I also love to look for tricks in any system (see: magic items and ridiculous amounts of damage in PF, infinite money in Star Wars, and suicide-bombing being a viable--and GOOD--career option in most systems that have a reflex save). I like to think I have a good mind for DMing, but rarely do more than help others plan, as I prefer being a player to running a campaign.
Wow, it's been a while since I looked at this and updated the above. Saving for posterity.
