Have been active with boardgames and tabletop RPG for many, many years.
I find great joy at the table when the group of people take part in the stories and contribute to whatever it is you are all playing.
Communication is key and group effort, viewing players, gm as individuals is paramount.
This something I also look for when taking part of a campaign. Many unsaid things are already mentioned here and here especially question "4. A Discussion Is Often Better ", more content here.
Some regard all of this as common sense.
If you are new to Roll20 or to this tabletop thing, I suggest you look at the links, maybe even start going through the forums.
The Ideal Storyteller
Is the kind storyteller capable of spinning the webs of fate, destinies, painting the worlds for by sight, touch, smell and with a pinch of intrigue, politics, moral choices. Then weaving the tale for the audience without being biased, guiding them fairness, capable of improvisation and then showing them the results of their actions in the world.
